Welcome
I know all of this information is easily accessible to everyone on the OSF website. I found that I was always the one passing on this information to other parties, so I though I'd put it all in one location, in fact, all of the shows that one can rush within the week are all available on the home page. The show profiles contain the information four weeks out. I have also contained (here) all of the information needed to rush, or student rush, an OSF show. In most cases, red buttons will take you directly to a corresponding page on the OSF website. Enjoy the shows, and make sure not to let this wonderful gem go to waste.
faq: OSF RUsh policies
How much are rush tickets?
The OSF Student Rush ticket price is $15. A student ID must be presented to receive the discount. One student ID only acquires ONE (1) ticket. Normal rush tickets are available without the need to present ID for $45.
When can I purchase rush tickets?
Rush ticket sales start one hour before the given performance.
How do I get around the one ticket per id rule?
One option to get around this is to bring an extra friend for every guest and have them buy the tickets for your other guest(s). This does mean that your friends won't get to see the show with you, but maybe your guest could remedy the situation by buying them a meal. College students love food.
How will I know what's rushing?
Each day, the OSF decides which shows to rush based on the number of empty seats in each show. The only way to officially hear weather or not a show is rushing is to call the box office after 9:30am on the day of the performance. The box office number is 800.219.8161. On a busy day, several calls may be necessary.
This site is able to predict rush performances, which you can use as a resource for advanced planning. All performances predicted to offer rush will be listed on the home page. Click on the description to make sure the likelyhood is not "on the fence."

how does this site make predictions?
In my experiences with rush, I have come up with the following rough parameters:
The Allen Elizabethan Theatre holds 1,200 people. Rushing usually occurs with 75 or more empty seats.
The Angus Bowmer Theatre holds 650 people. Rushing usually occurs with 50 or more empty seats.
The Thomas Theatre holds 270 people in thrust formation. Rushing usually occurs with 28 (yes 28) or more empty seats.
These are pretty good over/under estimations. The closer the seat vacancies are to these numbers, the more I advise you call on the day of to make sure.
